Short-term stays are now welcome on Dewees, with a few important guidelines in place to protect the island’s quiet, natural character. Homeowners may rent their properties for up to 56 days per calendar year, and no more than five homes may be rented in any given week.
The Property Owners Association does not manage or book private rentals, but we do provide a list of homes that are currently available. If you're interested in staying, we encourage you to review our visitor information first to ensure the island is a good fit for your needs and expectations.
There are no hotels, no restaurants, and no cars. Just quiet beaches and a slower rhythm of life. It’s a special place, and we want every visitor to experience it with the same respect and care our community shares every day.
What to Know Before You Visit
The ferry ride is just the beginning. Once you leave the mainland behind, it’s just you and the island.
Here, we move at nature’s pace. We respect wildlife, protect the ecosystem, and keep the nights quiet and calm. If you’re drawn to stars, salt air, and stillness, you’re in the right place. Before you arrive, make sure everyone in your group understands the guidelines and agrees to move gently through the island, taking full responsibility for their safety, conduct, and impact.

Charlotte’s Pearl is a custom-built, elevated second-row home offering a private two-acre retreat on the edge of a maritime forest, with expansive lake and marsh views.
The inverted floor plan maximizes views from the top-level living areas and wraparound screened porch. With 2,400 square feet indoors and 1,400 square feet of covered and screened porches, there’s plenty of space to relax. All bedrooms open to porches, and both master bedrooms include private screened spaces. A rooftop deck offers sweeping views of the ocean and Intracoastal Waterway.
